On the occassion of the Class of 1962's fifty year reunion, the celebration ended up--for an afternoon--back where it all started. Wandering the halls of their alma mater, conversation wandered from the extraordinary familiarity of sites, colours, and smells to the beautiful new facility. The Class of '62 asked about the girls who were students today, the courses LFA nows offers, and the extra curricular, sport and fine art options now available to the girls.
Seeing first-hand the impact philanthropy has had on the school, there was an poignant sense of wanting to give something back. It was only months after the establishment of our Little Flower Academy Foundation and only days after the Grad Committee for the Class of 2012 established the first every Class Endowment. In an instant, as we stood by the restored windows from the Convent and Founder's Hall, there was a sense that the Class of 1962 could offer a similar legacy to the school as the Class of 2012 had just done.
Two classes, exactly 50 years apart, have launched the Class Endowments with the Little Flower Academy Foundation for the benefit of the school. The symmetry of the gesture reflects the very core of the school's mission and will be a blessing to all those who follow in their footsteps.
