We seek to educate well-rounded individuals. Team work, respect, commitment and a healthy, balanced lifestyle are universal values reinforced in every sport and activity. We balance competitive sport and active participation with a fantastically diverse athletics program. Physical Education is an essential part of our School curriculum with approximately two-thirds of our students choosing Phys Ed as an elective course in grades 11 and 12.
Most of our teams compete in the Greater Vancouver Independent Schools Athletic Association or the Vancouver Secondary Schools’ Athletic Association. However, teams will often participate in invitational tournaments and regional and provincial championships that pit our LFA Angels against competition from across BC. And, while it’s not uncommon for us to celebrate a provincial championship, we strive never to compromise the sportsmanship and fair play that underpin our program.
The greatest accomplishment of our athletics program is the role we play in building a sense of community based on Catholic values. The true value of high school athletics comes from the life lessons it teaches and we are committed to providing a meaningful and memorable experience for all of our student athletes.
Coaches
Little Flower's athletic staff consists of a group of dedicated individuals, many of whom have played or coached at elite levels in their chosen sports. Many have played for their university and, in several cases our coaches have represented their province or Canada as athletes.
The coaches and staff are strongly committed to the health and development of every individual student, helping each achieve a positive experience. More than just individual and team development, our coaches consciously advocate ethics, teamwork, and sportsmanship as one would anticipate at a faith-based school. Coaches and staff also pro-actively guide our student athletes on striking a healthy balance between their academic requirements, team commitments and out-of-school activities.
