Our very own Kat Jayme '06 was recently awarded the Audience Award for her film "The Grizzlie Truth" at Vancouver International Film Festival 2022!
Winning the Audience Award under the Category "Special Presentations" Kat's second feature film was received with great fanfare and aplomb.
The films premiere was highlighted by the reunion of several former Vancouver Grizzlies themselves, it was the first such gathering in 20 years. Among the attendees were Steve Francis, Antonio Harvey, George Lynch, Tony Massenburg, the original Grizzlies Extreme Dance team, the mascot Grizz and announcer Al Murdoch.
A public reunion on the plaza at šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn (formerly Queen Elizabeth Theatre) kicked off the day's festivities, which included autograph signings and a skills exhibition programmed by Basketball B.C.
The premiere itself took place at The Centre for Performing Arts with a red-carpet event preceding and a Q&A discussion following the screening.
Kat's success is a huge mark of pride for the LFA community. LFA takes great pride in encouraging our students to pursue their passions and interests, and providing the space and resources to help them realize their potential. We hope Kat serves as a shining example of all that our students can strive for and achieve beyond LFA.
