In a wildly exciting, back and forth game, LFA overcame cross street rivals York House 1-0 to claim bronze and go into AA Provincials ranked third in the province.
Our Senior Field Hockey Angels were all business on a beautiful Monday afternoon in their Sea to Sky Zone Championship Quarter Final game with Sentinel Secondary. Playing in the strongest Zone in the province, the win for LFA clinched them one of the five berths at the Provincial Championships in early November in Victoria, BC.
LFA has been attending the Bridgman Field Hockey Tournament for over three decades. It is, simply, the highest level high school field hockey tournament in BC. Probably in Canada. The best AA and AAA teams are there and the parity among the teams is extraordinary. LFA has never made the final until this year!
Up against cross town rivals Crofton House, our varsity Angels field hockey team delivered a brilliant performance on Wednesday afternoon. On the back of two goals from Amy, LFA hung on for the critical 2-1 win to take top spot in the Vancouver independent league.
Another game where our team was able to dig deep and turn the flow of play around. Despite being down 1-0 and pretty convincingly outplayed, the second half was a resilient and determined effort.
Our league kicked off last night with an opening game against the Crofton Falcons. In front of a really good crowd at UBC Wright Field, our Angels fought their way back for a draw and missed out on the win by the tiniest of margins.
Our final game was actually a tale of two halves, but the final was a 1-1 deadlock with Newport Harbor. A great day at a stunning beach and a Friday night high school football game rounded out our day's adventure.
Four days into our tour, we took it easy and hit the local beach... until we really didn't take it easy and played a back to back game against two wonderful opponents.

Despite the early hour--or maybe because of the early hour--it was a smooth flight to LAX. We picked up our vans, checked into our Beverly Hills hotel, hit the Trader Joe's for lunch and trecked through crazy LA traffic to Bonita High School for our first game.
The roster for the Canadian Junior (u21) Women's National Field Hockey Team was announced today! LFA is very proud to boast that four Angels made the cut for the upcoming Junior Pan American Championship, hosted in Surrey, BC this July.
On March 17, 2024 UBC was crowned U Sports Champions for the second-straight year, led by LFA alums, Lucy Borowski '21, Elizabeth Lee '22, and Gisella Goodger '19.
