Elizabeth Vaz '17 has won the prestigious Independent Order of Oddfellows' UN Speech Competition. The prize for her accomplishment includes travel to take part in an international UN Speech Competition in Boston and New York.
Elizabeth Vaz of Grade 11, a very talented and capable Model UN student was the winner of the Independent Order of Oddfellows' UN Speech Competition held on Thursday 18th February in Vancouver. This means that Elizabeth will travel with approximately 200 students from around the world who also competed in the UN speech competition and won in their respective cities. In July, 2016, Elizabeth will travel to Boston, New York where the group of winners will visit the UN building and General Assembly and Washington, DC where they will visit Congress and all of the Washington memorials. A highlight of the trip will be that one delegate will get to deliver a speech in the General Assembly at the United Nations for all of the other students to hear. We wish Elizabeth the best of luck on this trip and say well done and well deserved!
