This past January, 40 LFA Model UN students attended the 2025 Vancouver Model UN conference and earned LFA 14 awards!
The present group of LFA Model UN Club members seem to be on fire with their passion and desire to discuss solutions to many problems facing the world today! At each conference this fall and winter, LFA students had significant impact with their resolutions on their respective committees.
Recently in January, 40 LFA students participated vigorously at the VMUN conference held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver and their efforts earned LFA a staggering 14 awards!
Special congratulations to the following students for their awards-
For the Best Delegate Awards - Nicole Liu for her role as Finland on NATO; Samantha Po as head of the Conservative Party on the IDU (International Democratic Union) and Sophia Tatone as the Secretary of State on the British Cabinet.
For the Outstanding Delegate Award (2nd Place) - Juri Matsuda as Japan on UNICEF; Kristina Bedford as Canada on NATO; Cate Shumka as the Minister of War on the JCC (Joint Crisis Committee) and Ava Nasrabadi as Quartermaster on the HCC (Historical Crisis Committee).
For Honorable Mention -Sherlynn Fung as head of the Christina People’s Party on the IDU; EffieLi as Colombia on CELAC (Committee of Latin American and Caribbean States); Shannyn Li as Brazil on UNICEF; Rachel Kang as Argentina on FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization); Mary Leung as the Secretary of Foreign Affairs on the British Cabinet and Sienna Geissler as head of the European People’s Party on the European Parliament Committee.
For the Best Researched Position Paper Award- Jasmine Luk as France on the UNSC (Security Council).
